Flourishing Future (FF) was the dream of founders, Aase Simms from Norway, Susan Griffeth from the USA, Ruthild Beck from Germany, Nergui Purevsuren and Oyunbat from Mongolia. In 2001 the doors opened to the first community center located in the heart of Mongolia's slum area called the ger district. The goal was to meet the needs of the most impoverished families, targeting families who were about to lose their children to the streets of Ulaanbaatar. Since that time Flourishing Future Community Center has had a tremendous positive impact in that community.
The second community center, called the "ARK" because of its size, was built by Troy Tvrdik; Flourishing Future Director 2009 -2016. The ARK is also strategically placed in the ger district.
Together with his family, Ben Selin faithfully served the community in Ulaanbaatar as the Executive Director from 2017-2019.
In July 2019, Batmunkh Baku (Munkhuu) was appointed to the role of Executive Director of Flourishing Future.
Munkhuu who is originally from Mongolia has served in various roles within the organisation since joining in 2009, most recently as the Director of Government Relations. He is a collaborative and compassionate leader with a heart that has been called to serve those in need in Mongolia. This passion propelled him into leadership roles within FF including leading the construction project of building the ARK Community Centre and home for the Desert Rose ministry.
Munkhuu is supported by his beautiful wife, Boloroo who is the Head of Social Work in FF and their two loving children; Khulangoo and Amka.
Munkhuu joins the long line of faithful leaders that has led Flourishing Future these last 18 years.
